Are you ready for another great color challenge? I sure am. I am lovin' the colors after all the grey weather we have had this past month. Check out the fantastic cards submitted by the DT and take a peek at the cards that were linked to the site. There are some awesome card makers among us! While browsing you'll get some fabulous ideas.

There is a long list of the cast of characters that were used to make this card. Lazy Susan Buggies stamp from High Hopes; Nesties from Spellbinders; Memento ink pad; Bloom stamp, frost white ink pad and Impression plate from PaperTrey Ink; patterned paper from K & Co., edger from Martha Stewart; embossing folder from Cuttlebug; tag die from Sizzix; ribbon from Hobby Lobby; rhinestones from Mark Richard; Copic markers; Stickles (bumble bee wings); Marvy gold metallic pen; Conch Shell Adirondack ink pad; Sky Blue Vivid ink pad; Sakura Stardust clear pen; and a button and gold thread from my "stash" box. I did my part to help the economy so now its your turn...go get some papers and embellishments and play along!

Here is the color challenge graphic.

Card Patterns #117

Check out the interesting sketch over at Card Patterns this week. These patterns have been great for inspiration when I want to make a card. After spending hours picking out papers it is great to have a pattern to follow.

Spellbinders tag and Nesties were used to make the flowers and the die cut the shapes on this card. The butterfly punch is Marvy, the pearls are from Want2Scrap, the foliage is a Sizzix die, Stampendous embossing powder, VersaMark, Beauty that blossoms verse stamp is from Darcies, ribbon from A.C.Moore, Tea Rose Vivid ink pad, Marvy gold metallic pen, and the butterfly stamp is PaperTrey Ink. Lots of fun tool were used to make this card so I guess I am helping the economy by buying from many businesses! I wonder if my husband will see it that way?

This is the sketch that was used to create this card.

HoneyPOP Blog Hop

You need to hop on over to Inky Antics to see the fantastic cards the design team has created. There are 5 new stamp sets and some beautiful HoneyPOP papers that have just been released. In addition to some great eye candy there is a contest and you could win a stamp set and paper. If you haven't seen HoneyPOP you are in for a surprise (inside).

Here is a card I just finished using the HoneyPOP stamps and papers. Isn't the bird adorable?

And now for the surprise! Kinda like opening and digging into a Cracker Jacks box or dumping out all the cereal to get that magic ring.

Isn't that cupcake cute? There are several sets to pick from and I started out with one of the smallest figure and now on to the Big Top.

Don't you just love the elephant? He is my favorite. Now for the surprise inside.

There are other pieces and sentiments that are included in the sets. Check them out!

SSSC 118

Karen has another great sketch challenge for us this week. There definitely are "the sweetest things" on this site. Check out the amazing DT and the wonderful cards that are entered into this sketch challenge. Here's my card.

I didn't deviate much from the sketch. The tree stamp is from "cistamps", the verse from Cornish Heritage Farms, the clouds are Art Impresions, edger is EK Success, woodgrain embosser and zig zag die are PaperTrey Ink. Marvy markers were colored directly onto the stamp, spritzed with a fine mist of water then stamped on the cardstock. Lavender and Summer flower soft were used in and around the trees. The pearls are from Want2Scrap and the buttons and floss are from my stash. Isn't fun to have lots of "toys" to be able to create one card!

Here is the sketch challenge. Check out the submissions for this challenge....WOW I love seeing how designers interpret the sketch.

CR84FN 29 Color Challenge

Last weeks "Lilac Festival" was rained out except for 3 days. What a bummer : ( Fortunately the color challenge for this week is a celebration of what should have been. The colors are plum, lt. plum and kraft. What a great way to have an online "Lilac Festival"!

The dies are Nestabilities, the embossing folders are Cuttlebug and the Butterfly punch is from Martha Stewart. Marvy markers were colored directly on the Hero Arts stamp which was lightly sprayed with a fine mist of water, then stamped onto the cardstock. The pearls in the flower centers were colored with a Copic marker. Fresh Snow Ink (PaperTrey Ink) was applied with cut 'n dry on the edges of the embossed Kraft cardstock.

Here is the color challenge for anyone who want to play along.

Card Patterns #116

We had sun briefly yesterday. What a good feeling to absorb some vitamin C. The gloom had me so depressed that it showed in my card making. Ever have one of those days where nothing you do looks good? Well I had a week of those days! : (

Here is the card for this weeks Card Patterns challenge thanks to the "SUN" which made a brief appearance.

Embossing folder is from Cuttlebug, the butterfly dies and stamp are from PaperTrey Ink, and the foliage was made with a Sizzix die and highlighted with a Copic marker. Nestability Blossoms 4 was used to make the flowers. The crinkle seam binding was dyed with Vivid Sky Blue. The verse is from "All a Flutter" MTME.

Here is the sketch that inspired this card.

CR84FN28 Color Challenge

Rain, rain go away!! Once again Spring has been delayed. Time for some colors other than grey.

Here is the card for this weeks color challenge from CR84FN.

Nice "warm colors" even though the temperatures have been in the 40's.

Here is the color challenge from CR84FN:

If it is raining and "grey" where you live, get out some red and yellow cardstock, pretend it is warm sunshine and make a card!

Lilac Inkers Challenge

This months challenge was to create a card using the stamp Alice brought to the meeting the month before. We each stamped it a few times on white paper then took the image home to create a card. Alice loved the stamp when she bought it but......there it sat 'cuz she couldn't figure out what to do with it. I have a lot of these stamps and I'll bet I'm not the only one!

This is the stamped image:

There is a lot of detail on this stamp. The cards that were created were fantastic!

Here are 2 of the cards made by Liz and Sue:

These cards were created by Luba, Pamela and Cathy:

These last cards were designed by Marie and Liz:

Get out those unused stamps, stamp them and give or send the images to your friends. They can in turn send the card they created back to you with their "impossible" stamp image. Repeat the process. You could be busy for many years!

April Showers bring.....

ABC DT Blog is have an "April showers bring May flowers" challenge. There are some fantastic cards that have been submitted. This challenge lasts for 3 weeks so it is easier to fit into your busy schedule. If you really get inspired you can enter as often as you wish!

I'm on a "shaker card" kick! It started with one and as of today I have made 12. This card uses a High Hopes "Lazy Susan Buggies" stamp. I want everyone to "BEE HAPPY" so I stamped, colored and cut out a lot of bees! Don't worry...they don't sting.

Copic markers were used to color the image and rhinestones were placed in the center of the flowers. I wasn't sure if the "shake"' would still shake with the rhinestones on the flowers but....it seems to be fine. We should learn something new every day!

Mojo Monday #190

Time for another Mojo Monday Sketch. Check out the posted cards! Amazing how different each person interprets the sketch. The talent and creativity is truly endless. So many ideas so little time!

Here is my version of the sketch:

Asian themed cards are few and far between probably because there aren't many stamps available. The stamps, paper and punches that were used on this card are from Hanko Designs. I have noticed some packages of paper in the origami section of Michaels and A.C. Moore. The image was colored with Copic markers and highlighted with a Marvy Deco Gold metallic pen. The floral sprig was embossed with JudiKins Egyptian Gold embossing powder.

Here is the sketch that was used to create my card. (I turned it side-ways)

Card Pattern Sketch #114

Here is another great sketch from Card Patterns. You should stop by and see all the creative cards that people have designed. I get so many new ideas looking at the various cards. I am constantly amazed by all the talented people and their ideas. "I wish I had thought of that" is a phrase that I am constantly repeating.

Here is my card:

The stamped birds and birdhouses are from "See D's" which is no longer around :( The birds and birdhouses were colored with Copic markers. Sigh...sure do love these markers. The embossed background is Cuttlebug and the verse is one of the verses from "Bird Quotes" at Stamping Sensations. A Nestability die was used to frame the verse. I used Flower Soft at the base of the birdhouse and around the verse. The vine and leaves were hand drawn with Prisma colored pencil. (I stamp better than I draw, so pretend the vines and leaves are beautiful!) Cut 'n dry with white ink was used to highlight the embossed background and Copic markers were used for the shadows. A cloud template was used for the sky. Lots of "stuff" for such a small card!

This is the Card Patterns Sketch that I used to design my card.

Another challenge later today. Tomorrow I will post pictures of tonight's Lilac Inkers challenge.

SSSC 116 & CR84FN27

The Sweetest Thing has another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. I designed a card with this sketch but used the color challenge from CR84FN.

The music stamp was embossed with Stampendous Golden Sand embossing powder. I stamped the flowers on white cardstock and colored them with Copic markers. I cut the flowers with scissors and paper pieced them on top of the flowers in the embossed image. I used the same Copic markers to color the silk flowers. I love this color combo! :) I wasn't sure I would like these colors when I first saw them, but I am glad I tried it! Get some paper and see what you can create.

This is the SSSC #116 sketch:

This is the CR84FN27 Color challenge:

I'll be back tomorrow with another challenge.

Mojo Monday #189

This card is for the Mojo Monday challenge. I love putting puzzles together and after I cut all the pieces for this card is was "puzzle-time". This was a great way to spend another rainy day.

I chose to do an Asian theme for this card. Red and black are usually associated with Asian cards but I decided to work with green as my main color in honor of "SPRING".

Here is the sketch I used to design this card.

Card Pattern 113 & CR84FN26

WEATHER ALERT
Spring has been delayed again this week. I might have to start building an Arc if it doesn't stop raining soon. Since I am still longing for warm weather I decided to make cards with flowers and pretend they are from my garden. Considering the puddles in the backyard I probably should have made Lily Pads!

This is one of my flower cards.

The stamp is Lazy Susan Buggies from Stamp and Create. The sides were cut off of a Neatability die, the text background is from Papertrey Ink and the embossing folder is from Sizzix. The image was colored with Copic markers after a white Prisma pencil was used to lighten the flower petals.

The layout for this card is based on this Card Pattern Sketch:

The colors that I used are from CR84FN:

I wonder how Gibbs (NCIS) gets those boats out of his basement?
