Masculine Kids Card

Just when I figured out how to combine "paper crafting time"  and "work hours".....my scheduled hours at my job, got changed...Grrrrrrr. Back to the drawing board, I suppose it will take a few weeks to get into the "swing" of the new work schedule.

I combined two challenges for this card because I thought it would be easy...Who was I kidding?? The Dynamic Duo Challenge uses two colors...pacific point and basic black, with the dessert option of making a 'kid themed card'.  Ann, the hostess for The Paper Players is challenging us to make a 'CAS masculine' card. Well boys are 'kids' and they are also 'masculine'.....easy peasy you say....well this was not the case. When you add that elusive 'CAS' to the mixture, it became a little more difficult for me. Three days later I finally completed this card. Keep in mind that last Wednesday I completed a card in 5 minutes and 15 seconds. Boy oh boy what a difference a week makes!

The paper pieced image from MFT was colored with Copic markers and Prisma colored pencils. I even added a few brush burns on the arms, cuz my kids always got bruises where ever the protective pads weren't!! lol

Dynamic Duos 1st Anniversary

This is one year anniversary at The Dynamic Duos challenge. As part of the celebration we are asked to create a project using one of the 'past colour combos'.

Happy First Anniversary and thank you for the wonderful inspiration, not only with the wonderful  'color combos' but also for the great present and past Design Team members.

10 Minute Less is More

Here is a card for two challenges....the 10 Minute Craft Dash Challenge and the Less is More Challenge.

The Penny Black image was stamped with a PTI ink pad and colored with Prisma colored pencils. The sentiment is from Daisy Bucket.

I used the color combo that was required but.....stamped on black. It took me
5 minutes and 15 seconds
....it would have been less time but I had to use the heat gun on the white pigment ink.

The Less is More challenge is:

This week it's every one's favourite.. One Layer Cards and this week we would like you to use a
Coloured Card Blank
add some colour to white, ivory, black or kraft card blanks.

Fusion #6

A quick posting for the wonderful Fusion Card Challenge. Last week was super busy so I didn't have time to post the cards that I created.....hopefully they will qualify a future challenge somewhere, sometime, some how.....sounds like the words from a West Side Story song!

Stamps from Island Paperie, HA and Flourishes. Distresses inks were used to stamp the plumeria flowers by stamping off on paper once. The die cuts are from MFT and SB.

This is the sketch/color combo that was used to create my card.

Thinking of You

This 'Thinking of You' card was created for three different challenges.  There is a wonderful sketch at Less is More, and the cue word at CASology is 'CARE'.  Simon Says Stamp Challenge this week is to create "Happy Mail"...

Stamps are from Outlines and Printshop. The image was colored with Copic markers.

Fusion #4

Well I had a few minutes to 'surf the net' this morning, minutes turn into hours and surfing turns into "new to me" challenges. I found the Fusions Card Challenge and thought I would give it a try....never met a challenge I didn't like so....off to the Butterfly Garden to make a card. For this particular challenge 'time was of the essence'...the link closed in 2 hours and 45 minutes.....YIKES...it usually takes me 2 hours to brain storm an idea. I just completed my card from 'start to finish' and have 1 hour and 18 ,17, 16 minutes left. How do some people do 10 minute challenges???

Stamps are PTI and Printworks, embossing folder is Sizzix and coloring was done with Copic markers. Foam tape was used under the leaves for a little dimension.

I fused the two challenges. What a wonderful 'new, innovative' way to get those creative juices flowing. Thanks for creating this 'new to me' challenge!!!

Lydal from "dreams & other realities" just introduced me to another 'new to me' challenge....it is called Catered Crop - recipies for papercrafting, the challenge is......Embossing - Make an Impression. Thanks, Lydal!!! If you haven"t been to either the Catered Crop or Lydals blog...please visit soon. Great inspiration on both of these blogs.
