In an effort to get back into the blogging world, I am participating in <a href="http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2015/11/sharehandmadekindesschallenge.html">Jennifer McGuire's Share Handmade Kindness Challenge</a>.<br />
<br />
A friend of mine had a stroke in September and is on the long road to recovery and rehabilitation. she was an avid card maker so I am trying to send her cards to cheer her up.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjN3nK8rFz7juVFmzeHJznqJlH0xJn3fQWgwk2sLmEZla3B4WqVDYQEgq0wZndOn0zbfKDQ0lgqHBhJnFIFKVB0WavI44nY36t8NeMdqbJvgOtTDyObotAwW-fr2YizQ4MkX7GE4KR4STM/s1600/JMKind1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjN3nK8rFz7juVFmzeHJznqJlH0xJn3fQWgwk2sLmEZla3B4WqVDYQEgq0wZndOn0zbfKDQ0lgqHBhJnFIFKVB0WavI44nY36t8NeMdqbJvgOtTDyObotAwW-fr2YizQ4MkX7GE4KR4STM/s320/JMKind1.JPG" width="254" /></a></div>
<br />
This is basically what the trees look like in my backyard.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8M6ws198bu1ja0FYKEXWpUbgzn-KKtqBu7Lxj6TRTSpq4Q9xORN4ZFOOueulh3fXDsZ3ui0N0zG6ugB12RyQb2ckSiOBKjphTeG-QlsvZCjRu-FN4jj2YSPnK7Lay6FJ5B72kdWudBjc/s1600/JMKind1a.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8M6ws198bu1ja0FYKEXWpUbgzn-KKtqBu7Lxj6TRTSpq4Q9xORN4ZFOOueulh3fXDsZ3ui0N0zG6ugB12RyQb2ckSiOBKjphTeG-QlsvZCjRu-FN4jj2YSPnK7Lay6FJ5B72kdWudBjc/s320/JMKind1a.JPG" width="264" /></a></div>
<br />
The trees were stamped again on the inside of the card.<br />

Back to creating cards in my Butterfly Garden.Mariehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00164298702303461873noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9083296547846055084.post-5387094139411014582015-10-29T10:03:00.000-04:002015-10-29T10:03:02.335-04:00Precious Remembrance "COFFEE LOVE"This labor of "coffee" love started in March...PHEW... its been a long year. We seen spring flowers, sunny summer days and now we have blustery rainy gloomy weather... Sure did enjoy the beginning weather on this journey much better than the end...lol<br />
<br />
Our wonderful group of six (6) very talented ladies, known as the "Lilac Inkers" meets the second Wednesday of each month. We decided as a group to see how far we could stretch a stamp set. Each person took the "Coffee Lovers" stamp set home for a month or two. The challenge was to create cards using only this stamp set. We did not share the completed cards as each person finished them...in fact I am the only one who has seen ALL of the cards. There are 24 different cards and no two are alike...amazing!!! Did I mention "talented"....WOW...Grab a cup of "coffee" and be prepared to see some wonderful eye candy.... On with the show....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJGl52zsOxt9BGd4x2OIMhG956MYD-m5E9jm2NKwSYiEh7g5zPbktpt4KbkSF87ogXYqbLWcWKNngZkiZIO3u2aFd9BlwrzTAex3Knx61bL18SEw2w_MpupTJDdjlnuWdqj5uv13VII_U/s1600/PRS%252315.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="206" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJGl52zsOxt9BGd4x2OIMhG956MYD-m5E9jm2NKwSYiEh7g5zPbktpt4KbkSF87ogXYqbLWcWKNngZkiZIO3u2aFd9BlwrzTAex3Knx61bL18SEw2w_MpupTJDdjlnuWdqj5uv13VII_U/s320/PRS%252315.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
These first two cards were created by Ann. I love the complementary embossing, great color combo. Ann used one of the border stamps on the top of the left side card.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinRqB-m1TInDBLkAh0YTXTKC5BbI2GctwitHbcKrbmv0P9errIyWPmztlc5M7so2RSTLh-OmjKBIFeCJ5OMNKdzgBPTKi3faGV_nLxKan-apxx7iScsPZVGauJy6DYGiwzVPacfPGJh8k/s1600/PRS%25231a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="187" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinRqB-m1TInDBLkAh0YTXTKC5BbI2GctwitHbcKrbmv0P9errIyWPmztlc5M7so2RSTLh-OmjKBIFeCJ5OMNKdzgBPTKi3faGV_nLxKan-apxx7iScsPZVGauJy6DYGiwzVPacfPGJh8k/s320/PRS%25231a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The next two cards were created by yours truly. A little masking helped with these adorable stacked coffee cups.The border stamps were used under those tiny stacked cups. Love how the heart border compliments the heart on the coffee cup on the card on the right.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizX-F_bUpRJG4jZiHiN3zxXOX0XWCvYYPVAx8OvY5OpSQPjgeapap1oP65UcUeBfEDqXkFEuuli0Hc0PfVpC_U8fQFgFIbOJAEMFi8ELWNuJUv2Ash3MB-Ig8TW_UNEcvnux_wqpGgCX4/s1600/PRS%25236.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="187" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizX-F_bUpRJG4jZiHiN3zxXOX0XWCvYYPVAx8OvY5OpSQPjgeapap1oP65UcUeBfEDqXkFEuuli0Hc0PfVpC_U8fQFgFIbOJAEMFi8ELWNuJUv2Ash3MB-Ig8TW_UNEcvnux_wqpGgCX4/s320/PRS%25236.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Maria created these beauties...WOW teal and black is officially a favorite color combo for me! Stunning cards!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFOJR7cN2jACoBtBMRiDj7Ro0bWu4nzSHqu2I6xvNxIjVy78qE_sS7AFsc0gMYJWKONMvYRgcayl2zGWTA02MV5dEq7cYQk3YF3TGZLXMqvx-T3i_rpXYC7zhJztD-oWy1Cc11DRZvKdA/s1600/PRS%25237.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFOJR7cN2jACoBtBMRiDj7Ro0bWu4nzSHqu2I6xvNxIjVy78qE_sS7AFsc0gMYJWKONMvYRgcayl2zGWTA02MV5dEq7cYQk3YF3TGZLXMqvx-T3i_rpXYC7zhJztD-oWy1Cc11DRZvKdA/s320/PRS%25237.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Up next is Pamela. Love how the striped border (card on right) from the set matches the stripes on the coffee cup. The yellow ribbons and layered dies sure do convey the feeling of "warm"<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgf8GZoKbj1DkSrs_d_tHmqABinZZEpqh-l76qvFGk2wvfBXTxmpE17ha9v67GVN7sEmdjcIr24zKxo-pEtweypKWBapNyLUAXlF9PMCPrgJKGHxIYuWiyXZLhkNWOTuy-nHLY8w5-3k5Q/s1600/PRS%25232a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="218" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgf8GZoKbj1DkSrs_d_tHmqABinZZEpqh-l76qvFGk2wvfBXTxmpE17ha9v67GVN7sEmdjcIr24zKxo-pEtweypKWBapNyLUAXlF9PMCPrgJKGHxIYuWiyXZLhkNWOTuy-nHLY8w5-3k5Q/s320/PRS%25232a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Me again. Notice how the black and red card has no mention of coffee? This stamp set has something for everyone even if you are not a "coffee" lover! One classic card, one distressed card, one stamp set.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrlayKHlNFJmmV09zOP5B28MIzs6bs36cnxTFOAvpf5BG6HUeYer2IGr38SjNRaIzbdbLrMnQHUxFzwwQCvpxzh3MJuuUTKM5nQxipG3Tq33zNYvLwX_AM4cbTBjvbQU2UManjIsxLxSI/s1600/PRS%252313.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrlayKHlNFJmmV09zOP5B28MIzs6bs36cnxTFOAvpf5BG6HUeYer2IGr38SjNRaIzbdbLrMnQHUxFzwwQCvpxzh3MJuuUTKM5nQxipG3Tq33zNYvLwX_AM4cbTBjvbQU2UManjIsxLxSI/s320/PRS%252313.JPG" width="265" /></a></div>
<br />
This delightful card was created by Luba. Love how the "a friend is" portion is popped up with foam tape.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRmgOTHMKw8LenslPmSmxaBGyuUIr6dFclRZXZGBWqbob8fjPHeFkMFzTOqdBW5Jl0h9N5GT39zfyXo1QY1Q3FDvsn3OChv8eNjtBrwY2ujBqDXgpfU6_KwX_swQvsm4SFGDFOCouD7ds/s1600/PRS%252314.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRmgOTHMKw8LenslPmSmxaBGyuUIr6dFclRZXZGBWqbob8fjPHeFkMFzTOqdBW5Jl0h9N5GT39zfyXo1QY1Q3FDvsn3OChv8eNjtBrwY2ujBqDXgpfU6_KwX_swQvsm4SFGDFOCouD7ds/s320/PRS%252314.JPG" width="287" /></a></div>
<br />
This is the inside from Luba's card. She actually fussy cut those tiny cups, just adorable!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTz_oEfcNQJP4hLkJkIaEsnGWOYaoIqjsJa_GWhCl8hMk5L-tmmVfrfJwsbgu3gBABwtGuHdCfQHhHzpq8o88W5f_G1NWg5FxKI2dpY0hVyKd_Gj8cO18_5voCR1GAAXQTn8uxx232Is8/s1600/PRS%252310.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="189" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTz_oEfcNQJP4hLkJkIaEsnGWOYaoIqjsJa_GWhCl8hMk5L-tmmVfrfJwsbgu3gBABwtGuHdCfQHhHzpq8o88W5f_G1NWg5FxKI2dpY0hVyKd_Gj8cO18_5voCR1GAAXQTn8uxx232Is8/s320/PRS%252310.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
These cards were designed by Cathy, our resident CAS and anything tiny and delicate expert. Beauty in simplicity comes to mind. Once again the border stamp on the top and bottom of card on the right.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL2t1oL7_lHNA3nSlngrJspyrcWOk_lj61ZAQNi00SdwNdQcR0psS9wn_ZMfWQBkrjf5oEfitKKaOAT_YSAkKoNO2CDVteM4fg8MeotuG3RAMHwPiOrwMm2enIz-cp0ldceUKPJBH1hKw/s1600/PRS%252311.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL2t1oL7_lHNA3nSlngrJspyrcWOk_lj61ZAQNi00SdwNdQcR0psS9wn_ZMfWQBkrjf5oEfitKKaOAT_YSAkKoNO2CDVteM4fg8MeotuG3RAMHwPiOrwMm2enIz-cp0ldceUKPJBH1hKw/s320/PRS%252311.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
As I mentioned...CAS, tiny, delicate...the insides of Cathy's cards. She also fussy cut the tiny cup and hand drew steam rising above the cup and used the border stamp to form a table for the cup to sit on!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXMpzKJsg7GnOzBMz-hgZNHQb5GbYrk_hZtaaoMpUBkruFqswWX4wJcEljzvyGfBjyEkiL05SGr4ddURxGiLs0RHYAOKOsbEyAZ0wE4JmsYO187Z_X-7G3E74MgCH2tRbU2sZbHoycLKE/s1600/PRS%25233a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="191" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXMpzKJsg7GnOzBMz-hgZNHQb5GbYrk_hZtaaoMpUBkruFqswWX4wJcEljzvyGfBjyEkiL05SGr4ddURxGiLs0RHYAOKOsbEyAZ0wE4JmsYO187Z_X-7G3E74MgCH2tRbU2sZbHoycLKE/s320/PRS%25233a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
A couple more cards that I created, The card on the left shows no signs of coffee. The border stamp was used on the card on the right near the bottom and around the holder on the cup. Almost looks like a UPC code.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWXNjZ_-_N0WRdHm7nf3_dM7mtP6O-30K9osTV5RNe6AOjXONTLxXOZZLG5AypM8V7rBW2zNHMZfTtO6CJz4prIJfvf_8W5QlDXVblPsSff5BbPPw7TB0H46I1jan_0-_PjdrweJr2B74/s1600/PRS%252312.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="204" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWXNjZ_-_N0WRdHm7nf3_dM7mtP6O-30K9osTV5RNe6AOjXONTLxXOZZLG5AypM8V7rBW2zNHMZfTtO6CJz4prIJfvf_8W5QlDXVblPsSff5BbPPw7TB0H46I1jan_0-_PjdrweJr2B74/s320/PRS%252312.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Bright yellow smiley face card and "something for you" card were created by Luba. She also used one of the border stamps several times beneath the coffee cup.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQvBnqYNkSB1C-O8rZ2MZ0lN_D3DeGeSa3AU6Ug-fGic5ICK5KFld_inFrVqsgvDKAg2oyEM_i_AzUeDZEGf5HYrR9ae0elrtQnP5SHfI0cGpPqacXojkctXc0Az7ZnDb3Ik2hHCU_ySs/s1600/PRS%25238.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="134" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQvBnqYNkSB1C-O8rZ2MZ0lN_D3DeGeSa3AU6Ug-fGic5ICK5KFld_inFrVqsgvDKAg2oyEM_i_AzUeDZEGf5HYrR9ae0elrtQnP5SHfI0cGpPqacXojkctXc0Az7ZnDb3Ik2hHCU_ySs/s320/PRS%25238.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Maria designed these great cards. Love how she used the circle stamp with the negative heart. She stamped it then used a smaller circle punch so that it would fit onto the cup holder. A little washi tape, and some twine sure do add a pop of color. One masculine, one feminine, one stamp set!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjux58Ed3p0BcpTDjM-ckgGuBEzyazfIVTopUCqBQcR3q5pzcoaMj0w_JqZMw3Vs4TVyLQFHkzU8bb6lcyQAlFmeZV-PNoKuL_x-bANralQoZAOa4vjqeVw3mU9V80Ii8_URLEm2oLlSGc/s1600/PRS%25235.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="187" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjux58Ed3p0BcpTDjM-ckgGuBEzyazfIVTopUCqBQcR3q5pzcoaMj0w_JqZMw3Vs4TVyLQFHkzU8bb6lcyQAlFmeZV-PNoKuL_x-bANralQoZAOa4vjqeVw3mU9V80Ii8_URLEm2oLlSGc/s320/PRS%25235.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Designed and created by Pamela. "A little something for you" really stands out in front of that embossed background.<br />

I occasionally get the desire to do multiple layers, pearls, pearl flourishes, hand rolled flowers, glitter, embossing, die cuts, floss, distressing, selecting portions of a stamp.... I did all of these on the card on the left-hand side. There are actually 5 layers in the center, the bottom one is covered with wink of stella, one layer is embossed and the center was done by carefully inking only a portion of the stamp. Phew got that outta my system for a while...back to CAS for me...lol<br />

I hope you enjoyed our labor of "coffee" love. There were also some marvelous insides in these cards but in order to keep this post at a reasonable length, all of them were not shown.<br />

I am adding one today it is called "PAPER THERAPY". I find working with paper, creating cards and other paper crafted items, to be very therapeutic. Of course some background 'music therapy' always enhances the process.<br />
<br />
This card is for the <a href="http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/">Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge</a> which is "<span style="color: red;">We're Seeing Stars</span>".<br />

This year has been awful and I hope next year is better. In May my husband had TWO back to back life threatening medical issues. We were finally almost back to normal (if you can ever call our lives normal) and then our precious, smiley, kind-hearted, lovable six year old grandson, Trevor, passed away. He was a perfectly healthy young boy when he went to bed on Wednesday evening but was found unresponsive on Thursday morning. To say our family is "heart broken" is a massive understatement. As of today we have no answers as to why he passed away. This is a "Little Helpers" event which is taking place here in Rochester, word is spreading across the USA and other states have decided to join in for this worthy cause.<br />

<br />
The stamps are from Flourishes, the stencil from MFT and the embossing folder is Stampin Up. The compass was fussy cut from the map stamp. I rotated the sketch to accommodate this masculine themed card.<br />

When you have some clothing that needs to be stitched it is hard to justify stitching on paper when there are clothes to sew. But....sewing on paper is definitely more creative. lol<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJnG8n_HmJsoSMICFhVoCv5QnkKEpWZBNhmL1mT4e6S4NQzOh6kiGv08Qf0TO0jvvwpZfMcQk_GdB82l0NtFhtLQcwdyJRygnV861P-74LmQ-FHy49SOn0YiWZueYJRCNkFYKH8wFDc8c/s1600/VVC3a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJnG8n_HmJsoSMICFhVoCv5QnkKEpWZBNhmL1mT4e6S4NQzOh6kiGv08Qf0TO0jvvwpZfMcQk_GdB82l0NtFhtLQcwdyJRygnV861P-74LmQ-FHy49SOn0YiWZueYJRCNkFYKH8wFDc8c/s1600/VVC3a.jpg" height="254" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Real and faux stitching were used on this card. Wish I could 'faux' stitch the clothes that are in need of repair! lol<br />
<br />

There was a time when I would cringe at the thoughts of making a card with only one layer.....but not now!! I think this type of card is a REALLY difficult challenge bit if it was easy it wouldn't be called a challenge! The<a href="http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/"> Less is More</a> challenge is to create a one layer 'Thank You' card and the <a href="http://onelayersimplicitychallenge.blogspot.com/">One Layer Simplicity</a> challenge for May is all about 'Flowers'. I combined the two.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I really love tulips but I wish they would last longer.<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
A fun CAS card to create. The three tiny purple heart shaped rhinestones are from a 'fingernail set' that I purchased at the Dollar Store. It contained many tiny different colored rhinestones and a tiny bottle of clear nail polish.<br />

In order to bring a little 'spring' to my Butterfly Garden, I decided to make a card using both the <a href="http://colourq.blogspot.com/">Colour Q Challenge</a> and the <a href="http://retrosketches.blogspot.com/">Retro Sketch Challenge</a> for inspiration.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Warm tropical breezes, blue skies, sandy beaches, and the sounds of the surf rolling onto the shore....now that makes me smile! The challenge at <a href="http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/">Less is More</a> this week is to create a card that makes you 'smile' :-).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEDbQQom6swB4zunCFv5ZjbTaoK-GgRTr7eGL22dkN3RECVGzB0kqhSd5bo4gqxqIMkiFEsnbxaUFGWgWnia-KnfCQxz9xXnltD8q0LqJ1cRMI4mG5faVY4LeWs8D33qt2eui9R_UxpME/s1600/LIM168(14)a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEDbQQom6swB4zunCFv5ZjbTaoK-GgRTr7eGL22dkN3RECVGzB0kqhSd5bo4gqxqIMkiFEsnbxaUFGWgWnia-KnfCQxz9xXnltD8q0LqJ1cRMI4mG5faVY4LeWs8D33qt2eui9R_UxpME/s1600/LIM168(14)a.jpg" height="267" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
After this brutal winter, not only does this card make me smile but it also makes me feel relaxed and WARM :-)<br />

Never mind reading the fine print....I apparently can't read the large print!!!! lol My card was disqualified because it was two layers. So here is my ONE LAYER CARD.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqII7aaqXCBQtddx9vQVFlQZEUKZ97YzLfjfRdKF_bm9kSldOF99pQ0yJI8XdT8b7yeuaa-UskVXv_RlhJyTkL0TXWJXd5jZaS3FD79xCrGVyndDw5kVT3KwpjbUpLGgq8Q3t6eSVWWPk/s1600/LIM167-1a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqII7aaqXCBQtddx9vQVFlQZEUKZ97YzLfjfRdKF_bm9kSldOF99pQ0yJI8XdT8b7yeuaa-UskVXv_RlhJyTkL0TXWJXd5jZaS3FD79xCrGVyndDw5kVT3KwpjbUpLGgq8Q3t6eSVWWPk/s1600/LIM167-1a.jpg" height="320" width="309" /></a></div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsPR4Yk7uve5YOInglkPcwCeXTx17RcnvLEMGCLXKM_6qIer_e_qex_qq6olAfk-Jw-ZwdBcj2mrehbxJ0S1UxyK9UU5aPjc-9Dxzk7YbL3GGm1-KjMlsyoFAJaBblKN4zjWuWMb6OAFk/s1600/VVC2a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsPR4Yk7uve5YOInglkPcwCeXTx17RcnvLEMGCLXKM_6qIer_e_qex_qq6olAfk-Jw-ZwdBcj2mrehbxJ0S1UxyK9UU5aPjc-9Dxzk7YbL3GGm1-KjMlsyoFAJaBblKN4zjWuWMb6OAFk/s1600/VVC2a.jpg" height="320" width="287" /></a></div>
<br />
Colors were applied using dye inks on pieces of cut 'n dry. Patience and practice are the key words when trying to use multiple colors on a stencil. lol<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYOFq6RSqJO5v9vH2dZ00EqFH-xI8AS_f3ihxfAC0aQcX4BNOzUwT7qmvD8NTsr0HJj19BCjuw7OTi5q3DhQehGbCW7FjnFeWOXJDkZH9gGiDt9l_hj_k3Ks0s8IUQ1dtS1DFGuiux9-0/s1600/V.V1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYOFq6RSqJO5v9vH2dZ00EqFH-xI8AS_f3ihxfAC0aQcX4BNOzUwT7qmvD8NTsr0HJj19BCjuw7OTi5q3DhQehGbCW7FjnFeWOXJDkZH9gGiDt9l_hj_k3Ks0s8IUQ1dtS1DFGuiux9-0/s1600/V.V1.jpg" height="320" width="267" /></a></div>

What a delightful, forgotten, seldom used (by me) color. I think I love it!! Guess I will try to use it more!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdpNSgaAvO6BVC7W-0jbT1uE_NSCbqE-PldYZkyx4vjq1SVWv9OHRCRP-qSRAWaQy-v_7z4ayTY3082Z01IS8sxIOyo63Utf6HANrpHp960fB9Qpcd-eyvYPy8CnwaHKa_KAuN_atburY/s1600/LIM166a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdpNSgaAvO6BVC7W-0jbT1uE_NSCbqE-PldYZkyx4vjq1SVWv9OHRCRP-qSRAWaQy-v_7z4ayTY3082Z01IS8sxIOyo63Utf6HANrpHp960fB9Qpcd-eyvYPy8CnwaHKa_KAuN_atburY/s1600/LIM166a.jpg" height="320" width="304" /></a></div>
<br />
This is actually my 'revised' version of this card. The original is below....which do you prefer?<br />
<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used an MFT die to make a stencil for the corner background of my card and the doily is a PTI die. I am sure that the Virginia's View Challenge expects more stenciling than I did, but I felt that anymore of those Polka Dots would make the card too busy. Sometimes "Less <b><span style="color: #351c75;">IS</span></b> More"!!</div>

This week the color 'gumball green' has me longing for a glimpse of 'green' grass. After the 'surprise' storm on Saturday night, we were left with about 9" of very heavy wet snow.YUCK While doing our driveway (and many of the neighbors driveways) our snow blower developed what my husband called a 'clunking noise'...thank goodness the snow removal process is over till the end of the year...I HOPE!!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_3lq_NPV2tvQAb8z0nkGDt4zdpChhiE-zGjfIWailfvN4OELtWMU5afQxVo-HRC8g3mflFnpAbrwowHJ5nhWrvGFs6Px0GD_qW2MeXhRF8Kt7OBFv-xKlchC2oBLmt2FakgOemMXNgW0/s1600/DD95a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_3lq_NPV2tvQAb8z0nkGDt4zdpChhiE-zGjfIWailfvN4OELtWMU5afQxVo-HRC8g3mflFnpAbrwowHJ5nhWrvGFs6Px0GD_qW2MeXhRF8Kt7OBFv-xKlchC2oBLmt2FakgOemMXNgW0/s1600/DD95a.jpg" height="274" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Whenever I use the color 'green', it seems as though any shade of 'purple' is my 'go to' color. Next time perhaps I should try something outside my comfort zone.... or maybe not. lol<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
The inside of my card is ready for an any occasion sentiment or blank for writing a quick note.<br />

This reminded me of the "three" challenge at <a href="http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/">Less Is More</a>. I loved the color combo at <a href="http://thedynamicduoschallenge.blogspot.com/">Dynamic Duos</a> and for the layout I used the sketch from <a href="http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/">The Paper Players</a>.<br />
