Card Patterns #116

We had sun briefly yesterday. What a good feeling to absorb some vitamin C. The gloom had me so depressed that it showed in my card making. Ever have one of those days where nothing you do looks good? Well I had a week of those days! : (

Here is the card for this weeks Card Patterns challenge thanks to the "SUN" which made a brief appearance.

Embossing folder is from Cuttlebug, the butterfly dies and stamp are from PaperTrey Ink, and the foliage was made with a Sizzix die and highlighted with a Copic marker. Nestability Blossoms 4 was used to make the flowers. The crinkle seam binding was dyed with Vivid Sky Blue. The verse is from "All a Flutter" MTME.

CR84FN28 Color Challenge

Rain, rain go away!! Once again Spring has been delayed. Time for some colors other than grey.

Nice "warm colors" even though the temperatures have been in the 40's.

Lilac Inkers Challenge

This months challenge was to create a card using the stamp Alice brought to the meeting the month before. We each stamped it a few times on white paper then took the image home to create a card. Alice loved the stamp when she bought it but......there it sat 'cuz she couldn't figure out what to do with it. I have a lot of these stamps and I'll bet I'm not the only one!

There is a lot of detail on this stamp. The cards that were created were fantastic!

Get out those unused stamps, stamp them and give or send the images to your friends. They can in turn send the card they created back to you with their "impossible" stamp image. Repeat the process. You could be busy for many years!

April Showers bring.....

ABC DT Blog is have an "April showers bring May flowers" challenge. There are some fantastic cards that have been submitted. This challenge lasts for 3 weeks so it is easier to fit into your busy schedule. If you really get inspired you can enter as often as you wish!

I'm on a "shaker card" kick! It started with one and as of today I have made 12. This card uses a High Hopes "Lazy Susan Buggies" stamp. I want everyone to "BEE HAPPY" so I stamped, colored and cut out a lot of bees! Don't worry...they don't sting.

Copic markers were used to color the image and rhinestones were placed in the center of the flowers. I wasn't sure if the "shake"' would still shake with the rhinestones on the flowers but....it seems to be fine. We should learn something new every day!

Mojo Monday #190

Time for another Mojo Monday Sketch. Check out the posted cards! Amazing how different each person interprets the sketch. The talent and creativity is truly endless. So many ideas so little time!

Here is my version of the sketch:

Asian themed cards are few and far between probably because there aren't many stamps available. The stamps, paper and punches that were used on this card are from Hanko Designs. I have noticed some packages of paper in the origami section of Michaels and A.C. Moore. The image was colored with Copic markers and highlighted with a Marvy Deco Gold metallic pen. The floral sprig was embossed with JudiKins Egyptian Gold embossing powder.

Card Pattern Sketch #114

Here is another great sketch from Card Patterns. You should stop by and see all the creative cards that people have designed. I get so many new ideas looking at the various cards. I am constantly amazed by all the talented people and their ideas. "I wish I had thought of that" is a phrase that I am constantly repeating.

Here is my card:

The stamped birds and birdhouses are from "See D's" which is no longer around :( The birds and birdhouses were colored with Copic markers. Sigh...sure do love these markers. The embossed background is Cuttlebug and the verse is one of the verses from "Bird Quotes" at Stamping Sensations. A Nestability die was used to frame the verse. I used Flower Soft at the base of the birdhouse and around the verse. The vine and leaves were hand drawn with Prisma colored pencil. (I stamp better than I draw, so pretend the vines and leaves are beautiful!) Cut 'n dry with white ink was used to highlight the embossed background and Copic markers were used for the shadows. A cloud template was used for the sky. Lots of "stuff" for such a small card!

SSSC 116 & CR84FN27

The Sweetest Thing has another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. I designed a card with this sketch but used the color challenge from CR84FN.

The music stamp was embossed with Stampendous Golden Sand embossing powder. I stamped the flowers on white cardstock and colored them with Copic markers. I cut the flowers with scissors and paper pieced them on top of the flowers in the embossed image. I used the same Copic markers to color the silk flowers. I love this color combo! :) I wasn't sure I would like these colors when I first saw them, but I am glad I tried it! Get some paper and see what you can create.

Mojo Monday #189

This card is for the Mojo Monday challenge. I love putting puzzles together and after I cut all the pieces for this card is was "puzzle-time". This was a great way to spend another rainy day.

I chose to do an Asian theme for this card. Red and black are usually associated with Asian cards but I decided to work with green as my main color in honor of "SPRING".

Card Pattern 113 & CR84FN26

WEATHER ALERT
Spring has been delayed again this week. I might have to start building an Arc if it doesn't stop raining soon. Since I am still longing for warm weather I decided to make cards with flowers and pretend they are from my garden. Considering the puddles in the backyard I probably should have made Lily Pads!

This is one of my flower cards.

The stamp is Lazy Susan Buggies from Stamp and Create. The sides were cut off of a Neatability die, the text background is from Papertrey Ink and the embossing folder is from Sizzix. The image was colored with Copic markers after a white Prisma pencil was used to lighten the flower petals.
