Fun with Fruit

The challenge at OCC this week is to make a card based on the inspirational photo taken at the Green Market in Copenhagen. Check out the web site for more info about the market.

The challenge was to make a card with "fruit". Summer is the perfect time to be making fruity cards.

I used the Nestability Fancy Tag behind the central image, the edger is from Martha Stewart and all other dies and stamps are PTI.

On this wonderful pictorial trip to Copenhagen, I wonder what other sites will be the inspiration for our card making? I can't wait till next week to find out.

Tea Time

This weeks color challenge at CR84FN is to use yellow, craft and neutral as the main colors. I usually spend too much time trying to figure out what image I'm going to use. After that is decided then I have to plan a layout and last but hardest (for me).....find the right papers! YUCK. This week when I saw that "yellow" was one of the colors, the first thing that came to mind was a "lemon". So I went with that thought and this is the card.

The tea cup, lemon and verse are from MTME, script is from PTI and lemon on background is a Stampendous stamp. The script and green stripes on the tea cup were stamped with Vivid Olive Green, the pearls are Recollections, ribbon from JoAnn's, and tiny tag is a Sizzix die.

This is the photo that was used to create my card. Please check out the inspirational quote, then add........

.........or get out some paper and ink and start stamping!

I'm posting 3 cards early this week since I was so late last week. Does that even things out?

Copenhagen

The Our Creative Corner challenge is to "use these photos of flowers I took as inspiration, create a projectWITHOUT using any flowers!"

Wow how's that for inspiration! I choose to use green with just a splash of color.

Sizzix, Nestability, PTI, Copic, Cuttlebug, Marvy and Recollections all provided supplies that were used on this card.

Lavender, Celery and Gray

Did ya miss me? The Lilac Inkers meeting was this week and since I had 3 tables in one room and 1 table in another room covered with card making supplies....I had to clean up for the meeting....we needed the tables! Go figure! After the clean-up I realized that I was missing a few card kits ;-(..... soooo I got some of the "stuff" out again to make the missing kits. The next day it was "clean-up" again after the meeting (kinda like a revolving door). Now for "fun time".

Oh my goodness. I love this color combo from CR84FN. This is my second post today (one more to go) and the third card that I made with these colors. I used the Card Patterns Weekly Sketch to make this card.

The stamp is a new Tina Wenke stamp, the image was colored with Copic markers, the Prima background paper was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder, Nesties were used for the circle and scalloped circle, the flowers were made with a MFT Rose Die-namics die, ribbon from Hobby Lobby, pearls from Recollections and gold edging was made with my favorite Marvy Calligraphy pen.

I found some tiny little round pearls in my stash, so I put them in the center of the tiny flowers. Two of the flowers were edged with a Copic marker.

This is the sketch that was used to create this card.

Tuesday oops Friday Sketch

There is another fun sketch at TMS. Since most of my cards seem to be vertical...it was nice to do a horizontal card for a change. I'll have to keep this in mind and do more since I enjoyed making this card so much. So many great ideas from the DT, please stop in for a visit.

The tiny flowers were made with a "Punch Bunch" punch...Say that three times fast :-), tiny butterfly is a Marvy Uchida punch, the large butterfly is a die from C.C. Designs, blades of grass are from an Inky Antics stamp set, Heidi Grace supplied the patterned paper, vellum (behind butterfly) from my stash, gold wire for antennae is Darice, gold edging was made with a Marvy Calligraphy pen, pearls are from Recollections, all other stamps and dies are PTI. I consider this to be a CAS card, yet look how many products were used to make this card. Think "Partridge in a Pear Tree".....9 pearls a blinging, 7 stamps a stamping, 5 ink pads inking, 3 dies a cutting, 2 punches punching, golden wire and pen etc.....It's good to have LOTS of toys to play with!

Here is the inspirational sketch.

Tuesday Morning

Theresa invited me to try the Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge. I love the sweet little girl card that she created. :-) There definitely are some extremely talented card makers among us......check out the cards created by this DT. I wish that there was enough time to do all the challenges that I find!!

The stamps and die cuts are from PTI. The inspirational sketch is below.

SEW much FUN

This card is for two challenges the Mojo Monday sketch and CR84FN color challenge.

Stamps and sewing die cuts are MFT and the doily's are PTI. I used directions from some Simplicity patterns to make the background paper. After placing different pieces from the patterns on the copier it was copied at 75%.

This is the sketch that I used to create this card.

Shaker Cards

August is "Shaker Card" month at Lilac Inkers. When I returned from Hawaii in February I brought 2 Tina Wenke stamps home with me. I made a card for Card Patterns last April using one of these stamps. I quickly found out that they were like "Lay's Potato Chips"...you can't (eat) make one! Our Lilac Inkers group meets the second Wednesday of every month, and we vote on which cards we want to make. In May we voted to do "Shaker Cards" in August. Here are samples of the cards we will be making.

I used clear stamps for the greetings because I could curve them to fit the oval shaped cut out. The images are versatile enough to fit almost any occasion.

The blue card will be used for my niece's baby shower....she's having a boy! These are 4 of the 12 different shaker cards that I made......told you they were like Lay's Potato Chips! :-)

CR84FN35

Yippee!! Another great color combo from the CR84FN color challenge. Thanks, Mona for the weekly inspiration, you always get the creative juices flowing. Lavender, celery and gray are the colors we're playing with for the next 2 weeks.

The stamp is from Cornish Heritage Farms , the gray paper is from a Cosmo Cricket pad, butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch (boy....she's into everything! Just saw a commercial for "pet stuff" on television!), pearls are from Want2Scrap, embossing is Cuttlebug, highlights were made with a Sakura Stardust pen, gold edging from Marvy Gold Calligraphy pen (I use these on almost every card I make...I should buy them by the case!) and seam binding was dyed with Vivid Lavender ink. Thhaattts all folks!

This is the photo that enticed us to play with these colors. When you check out the photo please take time to read the quote! Thanks, Sue for bringing it to my attention. Now I wonder how many other quotes I might have missed! I will have to re-read "older posts".

Hibiscus

I bought this hibiscus stamp while on vacation in Hawaii last February. It was screaming "ink me, ink me", so I decided I better make a card with this stamp so I could get some sleep tonight! I'm sure you have all purchased stamps then "the best laid plans of mice and men".....come on admit it...the stamps have "gone astray".

This card is for the Card Patterns challenge and the 'red & aqua' challenge at Our Creative Corner.

The stamp is from Island Paperie and it was made in HAWAII (not China). Coloring courtesy of Copic, embossing folder is Sizzix, die cuts are Nestabilities, floral paper DCWV, ribbon from JoAnn's and a supporting role from Stickles.

Here's the inspirational sketch for this card.
