CAS-Wordsmith & Thank You

I mailed a Birthday card last week, several layers, heavily embellished, with a piece of bubble wrap inside the envelope to prevent the embellishments from poking through and it weighed under 1oz. It was returned to me yesterday for additional postage because it was too thick to pass through the post office machinery! So I am on a CAS mission...no more thick, heavily embellished cards that will arrive LATE because they require extra postage.

Leann is the hostess this week at the Paper Players. Her Clean & Simple Challenge is to make 'words' the focal point. The Moxie Fab World Stamp it Challenge is to make a Thank You card.

The rainbow was created with a Raisin Boat stamp. The sentiment is from Stamp Oasis, the music notes are from Rubber Stampede and embossing folder is Cuttlebug. Colored glitter was lightly applied to each color of the rainbow.

Stamp from Raisin Boat and sentiment from PTI.

Such a lovely card with beautiful words, Marie. I love sentiments. Super embossing, too.
What a pity about your card being returned. Here in the UK, they ask the recipient to pay the extra mailing costs. So, now, if my cards are dimensional I try to hand deliver, or, if it's for someone special I make a box and mail it parcel post. These mailing companies have become far too greedy x

Aww sorry about all the postage issues Marie, so frustrating. But on a happy note your CAS card turned out beautifully! MY SIL lives one city away. I mail her square cards, no problem. She mails them to me and they come back to her postage due...go figure huh!

These are beautiful!! Postage is a pain! With all my family far away, I personally ask them to hand process it, but usually opt for CAS if it's going to be mailed! :/

That happened to me a few weeks ago - I even took it into the post office to be done on the scale, and one week later it was at my house...I figured there must have been a supervisor in Processing that day ;)
I absolutely LOVE this rainbow 'scribble' - and glitter is the perfect light embellishment!

Darn those fat envelopes!! CAS can be challenging when we want to add all the bells and whistles, but I think you've got it down pat with these two beauties! I just love those rainbows...and the glitter! Thanks for playing with my "wordsmith" challenge this week!

LOVE these rainbows!!!! I'm a fan of them and LOVE them on cards! Your soft pretty colours and embossing is a wonderful touch!!!
In Canada it costs a fortune to mail a CAS card too. Think we are at .95 to mail a card. I gave up and just pay the extra postage if need be. I admit though....lol....that I need to make sure the other person is worthy of that card. Are they going to love it or toss it ;) Know what I mean? hehe
Thanks for playing along with us at the Paper Players!

Such wonderfully cheerful cards! That rainbow stamp is so sweet and the embossing in the background is the perfect accompaniment. Thanks for playing along with the Paper Players this week!

A super CAS design & I love the rainbow. I agree that extra postage is a pain & I only send "fat" cards to special people now, shame.

Gorgeous, Marie...love the pretty rainbow!

One certain gal at the P.O. loves to squish and squeeze my envies...she is always charging me extra...even when I think it's fine with regulations. DH was mailing something for me once and said something to her...she indicated that the other gals don't do it right...good grief! Now we just try to make sure and get a different clerk! LOL

You are so creative! I love that you used softer colors for the rainbow instead of the usual primary colors. Pretty!
