A Study in Blue

As summer is winding down it is good to be able to make a card with the great color combo at CR84FN. The sky has these colors today. So inspired by the beautiful sky this is the card I created. This week's colors are light blue, turquoise, and neutral. Check out the cards by the DT. Neutral doesn't always mean white or cream!

For some strange reason the light blue looks a little purple in the photo. Must be what they call a blue red. The Hero Arts floral image was stamped then embossed with white embossing powder on white glossy cardstock. Vivid Beach Glass and Bermuda Blue were used to lightly sponge the colors onto the background. The verbage stamp is from a Printworks set, dragonflies are Hero Arts. Gold pearls, ribbon and gold sticker are from Hobby Lobby.

The flower was made by placing a small cuts every 1/2" along the edge if the ribbon. I covered one side of a circle with double sided tape. The uncut edge of the ribbon was adhered to this circle in a spiral fashion from the outside to the inside. Holding the edge of the circle with tongs I used my heat gun to shrivel the ribbon. A gold brad was added to the center of the flower.

Here is the inspiration photo courtesy of Martha Stewart.

Be sure you read what Judy Garland said. Food for thought.
